How do you make a 72" round banquet table overlay?
I'm looking into making an overlay to partially cover the 72" round banquet tables that will be at my wedding. They are currently white and I want to add a brown sheer overlay, but does anyone know the correct size this should be cut? This is my first big sewing project, don't know much

16 X 16 square is about right, but PLEASE don't go too dark with the brown unless you your round under is off white some!
Tape many sheets of newspaper together. Fold in half , measure and mark 72". Make a semi-circle. You may want to check your sewing store for an instrument to aid in this. Cut it out . This is your pattern. You could buy a 72" table cloth to make it easier. Use netting to make your overlay. No sewing involved. Netting doesn't need hem and is less expensive too. Sheer doesn't need to be hemmed either. Make it easy on yourself. People won't notice. Just do a good job cutting.
I would say 54 in. square that will give you pints or 54 in. circle if that effect is desired.
